Castle Quarter (or Várnegyed in Hungarian) is a district and an important cultural centre of Hungary's capital city Budapest, which includes different cultural institutes, museums, galleries, historical monuments and buildings, touristic and gastronomical destinations, festivals and also governmental and administrative functions.

The task was to design an overall identity for Castle Quarter Budapest, what synthesize all functions of the district, and applicable for multicultural, and governmental usage also.

The logo based on the view of Buda Castle from the other (Pest) side of Danube. The main logo (Várnegyed Budapest) uses two typefaces, and on the second line (in place of the name "Budapest") appears the names of different institutes and functionalities.

In the icon and pattern system divided three main signs. These basic patterns and pictograms made from the elements of the logo, the Danube or river/flow signs culture, the Csatle Hill or mountain/hill signs tourism and the Castle signs the officiary functions. There are some more pictograms to sign famous bouildings on the map, and some more to sign important functions in editorials. These additional icons based on the main signs (culture, tourism, government).

The complete identity system includes staitioneries for institutes and governmental offices, editorials, posters and citylights, souvenirs, info maps and responsive webdesign also.
