HopTop Brewery rebranding & packaging (label) design concept 2020
The HopTop Brewery has entrusted me with the exciting task of redesigning the labels (packaging) of their series of beers. They wanted a very colorful and fresh design with plenty of little details. However, the main goal was also to make the new label explicitly different from the packaging designs and labels of competitors in the Hungarian market. While brainstorming, I was constantly on the lookout for a really special visual world. I wanted to find a narrative pictorial system that says more than a plain, beautiful, eye-catching label. So I figured I would like to tell a story on each label. I wanted to design comic style illustrations with many small details, so that beer consumers, while enjoying the excellent drink, could spin the bottles to discover the story behind the title and taste of that particular beer. This story-driven visual system is endowed with an even funnier and more grotesque taste by anthropo-zoomorphic figures. Every little detail matters, a human connection, situation or crime can be discovered through it.
